Flyover - Nehemiah First Project In Bangladesh
Mohakhali is one of the most important traffic
junctions in the Dhaka city and has record of severe traffic congestion.
Construction of the flyover will help to reduce the traffic congestion
to a great extent. However, it is observed from experience that
construction period of the flyover creates even worse congestion
of traffic. In order to avoid this problem and to shorten the construction
period, Nehemiah wall was introduced and used as embankment wall
for the approach ramps of the flyover. The Nehemiah wall was successfully
completed in year 2004 and it was found to be cost effective, rapid
and easily constructed and cause less obstruction to traffic. |
